Class Experience

1. What will be taught? In this class students will have story time with me. We will read and sing along to the book Baby Beluga. This is a perfect book for summertime. Along the way I will ask different comprehension questions about the book to give students practice with answering questions and staying engaged. I will give students a chance to sing along to the song Baby Beluga. After the read aloud we will make our own Baby Beluga craft.
2. What topics will I cover? I will cover how to follow directions during a read aloud, learn how to answer questions that are being asked about a story, sing along to a song, and make a Baby Beluga whale craft.
3. How is my class structured and taught? I believe that students learn best when they are having fun. In this class students will be learning content, however they will have lots of FUN also:)
4. How much will learners get to interact with myself and other students? Students will get to sing along to the Baby Beluga song with myself and other students. They will also get to interact with myself when answering questions and doing the whale craft.

Beginning: Students will get to introduce themselves to the class. They can tell everyone their name and age.
Next: I will address with students how to follow directions during a read aloud.
Next: I will read Baby Beluga to students. Throughout the story I will stop and ask comprehension questions.
Next: After the story is finished, I will go back to the beginning and have students sing the Baby Beluga song with myself.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello Everyone!! I have a joke for you.....
What school do you greet people in?......Hi School!:):)

I LOVE teaching! I graduated from West Texas A&M University with my bachelor's degree in elementary education. I have also acquired a masters degree in reading instruction, and am passionate about teaching kids to read. When I graduated college I taught first grade for two years in North Carolina. I have also had the opportunity to teach English online with VIPKID for a couple years. This is an ESL company based in China. This has given me experience with making learning FUN in the online environment. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve. I really enjoy teaching creative writing, so if you are interested in getting your child engaged while writing, I would love to be your teacher:) I also have two precious Corgi's named Peach and Noodle that like to make appearances in my classes as well. Students always look forward to this. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. Thanks so much and I hope to meet you all soon!
