Summer Art Camp: Create Like a Master Artist
What's included
1 live meeting
1 in-class hours per weekClass Experience
SUMMER BREAK SESSION NOTE: I will refund for weeks families are on vacation - please notify me by Sunday that fee is paid. Does your child like to create art? Come join this summer camp to learn about artists such as Vincent Van Gogh, Paul Gauguin, Leonardo daVinci, Georges Seurat and more! After students learn about an artist, they will get to create in that artist’s style. NOTE: this class will allow learners to create their own interpretations and will not be required to just “copy” the current artist. Projects will take 1-2 weeks depending on the level of detail and technique of the artist. Students will need to be fairly independent. I welcome learners with disabilities such as ADHD, ADD, high functioning autism, etc as well as all typical learning students. Please plan your “home support” accordingly. Teacher expertise and credentials

Master's Degree in Education from Florida State University
I have helped children for the past 19 years - 11 were working in a school which specializes in high functioning autism (there were neurotypical students also.) Throughout my experiences as an art therapist and then as a special education teacher, I have seen that children learn best when engaged in hands-on acitivities. They tend to retain information much more effectively when enaged in active learning. Besides learning the science standards, the focus for students in this class will be on actively participating.
