Beginner Level
In this 4 day class we will talk briefly about a different artist each day. The artists will be Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Henry Matisse, and Mary Cassatt. We will discuss a their life and their artwork, and then students will create their own masterpiece using crayon and watercolor. We will talk about color, composition, creativity, and also the proper use of materials and clean up. Day 1 - We will explore Vincent Van Gogh and his work titled Landscape at Auvers after the Rain, 1890. We'll plan to talk a little bit about the artist and then create a masterpiece based on his work. Day 2 - Pablo Picasso is our artist for day 2. We'll look at his work called Femme au béret rouge-orange from 1938. He's a fun artist to explore and will have fun being inspired to his work. Day 3 - We are going to look at the artist Henri Matisse and his Fauvsim movement. We'll be inspired by his life and re-create his work entitled Interior in Yellow from 1946 Day 4 - We will conclude the camp with the French Impressionist artist Mary Cassatt. We'll explore her life and work and be inspired by her work Summertime. We'll do a recap of the week of art and have fun looking at everything we have achieved for the week! The students will be able to create their pieces based on the artists' work, but in their own style and with their own personality and creativity. The class will be step by step allowing time for each learner to create their piece and be proud of what they create. No experience is needed, but some parental help could be needed if the student is younger. Please look at the supplies list for everything needed for this lesson!

I have been teaching on Outschool for about 5 year and have enjoyed every aspect of teaching art! I love seeing students succeed when they aren't confident in their skills. I love seeing the growth in their skills and in their art. It's such a fun and rewarding experience!
