1 hour per week. Optional homework will be assigned each week to practice that week's topic. Students can send the homework back to me for correction.Class Experience
US Grade 7 - 9
In this class we will review and practice a new topic each week. We begin each class with a challenge warm-up problem and then I will do a short review/notes of that week's topic. We will follow with group practice problems and then move to individual problems for students to practice. I usually end with a Blooket game to finish in a fun way! This class will benefit: -students who are finishing Pre-Algebra but would like extra review before beginning Algebra -students who would like a leg up before beginning Pre-Algebra and Algebra -students who struggled in Algebra 1 and would like some addition reinforcement before moving on to Geometry. Although the class is meant to be interactive, students that struggle with speaking up in a group do not need to participate in the large group discussions. As a Special Education Teacher, I strive to accommodate all learners! Please send me a note ahead of time so I can accommodate your child's learning style. Week 1: Equations (one and two step, including integers and fractions) Week 2: Equations (multi-step) Week 3: Graphing in Slope Intercept Form Week 4: Graphing in Point-Slope and Standard Form Week 5: Systems of Equations: Graphing Week 6: Systems of Equations: Substitution Week 7: Systems of Equations: Elimination Week 8: Angles

I have sixteen years of experience working with neurodiverse learners in a variety of classroom settings including Self-Contained, Resource Room, Inclusion, Regular Education and Honors. I have been a Middle School Math tutor for the last twelve years and have sharpened my skills on how to reach different learners. The core of my teaching philosophy comes from building relationships with students and knowing that each student has his or her own unique way of understanding the material. I strive to help students be successful in all environments including public and private schools as well as homeschool.
In addition to teaching, I have three biological children and five rescue animals. We are also foster parents and enjoy having a full home! I began homeschooling my middle school aged children a couple years ago and love the extra time I get to spend with them as well as being able to personalize their learning.
