US Grade 9 - 12
Beginner - Advanced Level
Students attend 4 hours of live on-line classes with me each week. When compared to other Outschool group classes, my Algebra Courses provide more hours of live class per week than any other algebra group class available on Outschool. No other teacher provides 4 live on-line classes per week in algebra. I teach by showing students an example of each type of problem. During the class time, students are expected to work on problems with my feedback and support. My teaching style is problems-based and there is ample opportunity for students to attempt problems during class. Based on my 19 years of teaching experience, I find that this is the only effective way for students to learn and retain the material in algebra. My Algebra 2 Crash Course is a complete course in Algebra 2. It is intended for students who have previously studied Algebra 1 and Geometry. This course is intended for students who are going into their junior year (grade 11) but younger or older students can also take my Algebra 2 Crash Course. Every week, I provide problem sets for students to complete on their own as homework. This is a fast-paced course, completed in just four weeks. I expect students to work hard and do their best! After completing my Algebra 2 Crash Course, it is recommended that you enroll in my Pre-Calculus Course.
Learning Goals
Complete course in Algebra 2. Prior completion of algebra 1/geometry recommended. For students in junior year. Also suitable for younger or older students who have completed algebra 1 and geometry. Students will thrive in Algebra 2.

Teacher expertise and credentials
UPDATE: In addition to all of my private and group classes on Outschool, I am currently teaching several groups of students in Gaza. This is a collaboration between Outschool and two non-profit organizations: Horizon's Academy and the Gazan Student Support Network. As my Gazan students face unimaginable difficulties on a daily basis, I am filled with pride in them for their continued commitment to their studies, their hard work and their kind and humorous words. Teaching these students in Gaza has been an honour and a privilege and I look forward to continuing to teach these students AP Calculus and AP Chemistry until the end of this school year.
I studied Biochemistry at Queen's University and I have nineteen years of teaching experience. In that time, I have helped hundreds of students succeed!
I am the owner of a small tutoring business which I have operated for over fifteen years.
I specialize in teaching algebra, pre-algebra, geometry, trigonometry, pre-calculus, foundations of math, advanced functions, calculus, chemistry, physics, math and science at the middle school, secondary and post-secondary level. Including AP, IB and college-level courses.
My teaching style is methodical and I focus on improving the students' grades. In fact, several of my most highly motivated students have recently been accepted to medical school in the UK, directly from grade 12!
I have worked with students from many different private and public secondary and post-secondary institutions across Canada including Shawnigan Lake School, Brentwood College School, Queen's University, UBC and many others.
I have years of experience teaching students with learning disabilities including: dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, concussions and others.
I have worked with students from all over the world and I am sensitive to cultural differences and adjust my teaching style to suit my students.
In addition to my professional experience, I also homeschooled my little niece during the COVID-19 pandemic. I have been teaching her almost daily since she was four and now she is ten and she is reading, writing and doing math in two languages!
On Outschool, I offer classes in:
algebra, geometry, trigonometry
pre-algebra
advanced functions

I love teaching and I love helping my students succeed. There is nothing more rewarding than helping my students improve and achieve their goals!
When I am not teaching, I enjoy traveling, dancing (Salsa and Bachata) and spending time with my family!
I look forward to hearing from your family and teaching your child how to work hard and do their best in math and science!
