Let’s Celebrate Black Books! Young African American Readers and Writers Club In this club learners will read and discuss books by African American authors over a bowl of popcorn or other favorite snack. Students will grow to appreciate the beauty and significance of African American literature.
OUR TEACHERS: Mrs. Ari Odom-Murphy- She has a love for children and literature and her counseling expertise provides a kind, yet encouraging matter with the children. Dr. Jackie Gittens- A teacher and parent with a heart for children and a love for literature. She relates well to young learners breaks complex material down for young learners. Mrs.. Kimberly Bolden- A linguist, parent, teacher and lover of African American literature she brings practical information and little known facts about literature. Prof. Cheryl Carter an African-American mother teacher and avid reader with a heart to help others love and appreciate some of the most beautiful literature in the world.
