Summarizing is a valuable skill for effective essay writing. We read a short story in this class and use the 5 sentence method to create our summaries.

Ever wished you could take a long story and explain it perfectly in just a few sentences? In this class, you'll learn awesome techniques that make summarizing easy and fun! How the Class Works Together, we'll read an interesting short story and practice the Five Finger method for non-fiction and then we will read a non-fiction piece of writing and use a similar method. You'll get to create your own summary, and if you'd like, share it with the class! This is perfect practice for writing better essays and book reports.
