If students and parents are comfortable with a glue gun they can use this to construct their castle. Otherwise, ordinary glue also works.
Castle, by David Macaulay, is a great source for medieval castle history. It is full of illustrations about every part of the castle and might be useful for the student to refer to while designing their castle.
