In this 4 week 5th grade math class, the focus will be on breaking apart mathematic word problems and solving them using mathematic operations, fractions, decimals and much more.

Description

Class Experience

Math is everywhere in our daily lives. Word problems present day to day situations that need solving. This summer word problem strengthening class will be taught with a casual yet focused approach to break down word problems and make them easier to conquer. On the first day of this course we will have a short question and answer time to discuss what learners already know about solving word problems and talk briefly about how class will run. This class is taught in English.

1. Learners will improve their basic mathematical operation skills
2. Learners will improve their word problem solving skills

No homework will be assigned.

*A one page sheet will be available to print for each day.
*Clue Word sheet (Could be printed onto card stock for longer lasting durability
*Pencil with eraser
*Calculator if desired

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

At the end of this 4 week course each parent will receive a brief written report of skills practiced and the assessment of how each learner progressed through this course.

1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
