This is a guided reading class for learners who need practice reading short vowel CVC words. This small group is designed to improve reading in the areas of fluency and comprehension.

Class Experience
Welcome to Success and Learning: Guided Reading! Throughout our time together your learner will focus on strengthening their reading skills. Skills include phonemic awareness, decoding, fluency, comprehension, and other skills deemed necessary for success. We will work on these skills in a variety of ways such as songs, rhythms, movement, and games taking a multisensory approach. This class is designed for learners who are working on reading CVC words and practicing short vowel sounds....
Learners will improve their reading abilities and be able to read short vowel sounds and CVC decodable books.
Ms. Katelynn has been a teacher for the past seven years. For the past two years she has been working as a special education teacher for students in kindergarten through third grade. She loves to teach and share her passion for learning with her students. It is Ms. Katelynn's goal to show her students that they can be successful in the classroom and help them gain the confidence they need to do so!
Learners may have some optional recommended work to complete outside of class.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Learners will be assessed on their reading abilities through running records and reading behaviors check lists.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
This class will use some Google apps such as Jamboard and Google Slides. Google does not allow children under 13 to create their own accounts. It is recommended that parents set up a Google account for their learner using family link. Students will be accessing Jamboard and Google slides during class time.
