Class Experience
Students will learn how to become more independent and how to take responsibility for their choices and the direction of their own lives.
Mrs. Lemons has a B.A. in English/Literature and an M.Ed in Education Administration. She has a teaching and principal's license and is endorsed to teach English and History. She has many years of experience teaching in public and private schools at every level, including college students learning to be teachers. She is a teacher of teachers.
Students may need to do some independent reading to get through the entire chapter.
Students will need to own or borrow the book from the library.
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
The book does discuss drug use and sex in the context of how to avoid peer pressure and make good decisions. This class is strictly for teenagers, not for younger children, and the instructor always tells students to talk to their parents about these issues as well.
