Does your child struggle with or hate math? Is homework a constant battle? This course will help solve those frustrations. Prior to our scheduled meeting time, students and parents will be able to tell the me what they are struggling with and I will design the tutoring session around those needs. Having taught over 15 years of math in a full time classroom and hundreds of students, I know how to redirect confusion, stop-out misconceptions, and break down difficult concepts into small...
My tutoring sessions are best suited for students in grades 4, 5, 6, or prealgebra. Students can request to focus on any concept within those grade levels as needed.
If desired, homework and additional practice can be assigned at the student's or parent's request. If assigned, homework would usually require an additional 20 minutes after class.
Typically, students will need paper and pencil. They may also like to use a white board and marker to easily show their work. On occasion or depending on the skill, a PDF or activity sheet will be provided to the student. This may include printable manipulatives for the student to use in class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents and students will receive written feedback following our tutoring session. Formative assessments will be given by the teacher during the session to gage and measure learning progress.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
