Students will learn to subtract from 2 or 3 digit numbers when regrouping or borrowing is required.
Class experience
Students will start class by taking notes on the place value of numbers. This is necessary for our lesson as it will make the concept of regrouping numbers easier. Students will then see examples of subtracting from two digit numbers when borrowing is required. Students will take notes on a few examples and then they will be asked to work on a problem on their own. Depending on how the class does as a whole we will go back to guided practice or continue on independent practice problem....
Students will learn to subtract numbers when regrouping or borrowing is involved.
This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
