US Grade 4 - 7
In order for a sentence to be complete, it needs two key elements — a subject and a verb (predicate). First, we discuss what elements a sentence must have to be considered a sentence. Additionally, the subject and verb must form a complete idea. That's why understanding subjects and predicates is so important. First, we'll dive into subjects, as no sentence can exist without them. We will learn how to find the simple subject and the complete subject. Then we will discover what a predicate is and then learn how to identify the simple predicate and the complete predicate. Practice sentences will be included. The class is of the most benefit if your student is willing to interact when we get to the practice sentences. I teach in a relaxed manner. Class Rules: We mute so we do not talk over one another, we are kind and respectful to everyone, we raise our hand if we have a comment or question, and per the Outschool rules, the camera must be turned on during class so I may verify the learner.
