The purpose for this course will be to teach the student about the Su 27 Flanker multi-role aircraft. This aircraft was developed for both air to air and air ground attack and other vital missions for the Russian Air Force. This highly maneuverable aircraft was also successful as many other countries purchased this plane for their inventories. It was the second Soviet fourth generation aircraft in response to the United States fourth generation aircraft production. The focus will be on both scientific and historic facts about this successful fourth generation fighter aircraft. There will be an attached note taking document with pictures to help the student learn and retain the information in this course. There is also a video about the Su 27 included for visual perspective on the airframe and how it operates. The desire of the teacher is to engage the students with questions and dialogue to help them further learn the material and answer questions. There will be no assigned home work in this class and the teaching style will be lecture via power point material with a few questions asked of the students.
