Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - 1
Stuffed animals are not getting the education they need! In this class, we create a stuffy school to teach our stuffed animals what they need to learn.

Students transport their stuffed animals to school through a make believe school day which will include activities such as:
-learning the ABCs, how to count, and the days of the week
-storytime
-show and tell
-recess (hopscotch, monkey bars, free play...)
-snack time
-learning how to draw
-learning basic math and spelling

All the while, we help the stuffies get to know each other, make friends, and have fun!

Learning Goals

Students will develop their imaginative storytelling skills. Teaching their stuffies will help them reinforce what they have learned in school. Students will also get to know their classmates as they help their stuffed animals become friends!

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have significant experience working with children in a variety of settings from: preschools to summer camps to organizations for children with disabilities. My experiences in preschool programs helped me learn the skills that children are working on between the ages of ~3-6. By working as a counselor in creative summer camps, I gained a toolbox of fun team bonding, leadership development, and skill building games, and how to engage with, support, and nurture children. Additionally, my experience working with people with disabilities in gyms, classrooms, camps, and clinics has taught me how to adapt my classes to meet the needs of each student and utilize teaching methods that help neurodivergent students feel comfortable and engage in my classes.
