Do you ever feel like you study, study, and study but just can not seem to remember the information? You might be studying in the wrong way. In this 30-minute class you will learn how to “Study Smarter”. This class covers the following: 1) What your learning style(s) is (are). 2) Learning specific studying skills for each learning style Learners will begin with a questionnaire to help in finding what their learning style(s) might be. Then once their learning style(s) has been identified we will discuss specific study skills they can put into practice. The goal of this class is to help the learner study in a way that supports their learning style(s) so they may perform better on tests and improve their homework grades.

Hi Everyone. Welcome to Outschool. My name is Karen and I’m excited to be able to bring my love of teaching online.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Fairmont State University in West Virginia. For 10 years I educated students in Family and Consumer Sciences. I love teaching FACS courses because they help students to develop the essential life skills and knowledge to lead their best lives. It also offers students education to career pathways in:

Foods and Nutrition
Child and Family Development
In addition to Family and Consumer Science I am certified to teach Safety and Drivers Education, PreK – 5th grade and TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). A love of mine is traveling, but not just traveling, having lived in 10 different states, I have immersed myself into the culture of the areas and discovered how each state has a uniqueness all their own. I hope to also share my passion for travel and what makes each state one of a kind.
My teaching style is what I call “structured fun”. When teaching my students about how to educate Preschool children we discuss about how they learn through play. I don’t believe that should just apply to Pre-Schoolers. My classes include a lot of interaction through discussions, games, projects, and fun quizzes.
