Study Skills 101: A Crash Course
Class Experience
In this one-day course, students will learn a variety of study skills to help them in the classroom and in everyday life. We will discuss executive functioning and how we can best support our brains to do our best. We will cover note-taking, active listening, organizational skills, time management, and other tools for students to successfully take ownership of their educational experience. - Students will learn new ways to take notes, listen actively, interact with information to develop understanding of the topic, and effective test preparation skills.
We will utilize the annotate tool, chat box, and breakout room features within the Zoom platform. Students may want to have a pencil and paper nearby to take notes, practice the strategies we discuss, or for participation in group activities.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
