Students will learn about the recording process needs for submitting original songs to a studio for mixing.

I have over 35 years of experience playing and recording music.  Over the years I have acquired well over $40K worth of recording equipment, instruments, and software.  I have also built my own recording studio with lots of expensive analog gear.  With a little ambition and a modest amount of recording gear, almost anyone can record a song on their own.  However, not just anyone can make a professional sounding mix from their recording.  Music production requires good working knowledge of not only arrangement, but also compression, appropriate EQing, saturation, reverb, delay, the list goes on.  It takes years of practice and experience just to develop an "ear" for successful music production.  I am able to offer that at this point in my life.  I love music and I adore young song-writers!  Let me help you get started with your original music!

Homework Offered
You will record a song on your own using your own gear and have the opportunity to send it to the studio (within a reasonable timeframe) for further mixing/polishing.  Please ensure that your recording environment is set up as ideal as possible when recording to avoid phase issues, combing filtering, and other unwanted noises that could taint the engineers ability to provide you with the best mix possible.
