Do you love Studio Ghibli and would love a watercolor course focused on your favorite characters? Want a fun and relaxed setting to practice your watercoloring skills? Would you like to learn some fun facts about your favorite Studio Ghibli characters as you work? Then this class is designed for you!

This four-week class will have students focus on sketching, drawing and watercoloring. Students will learn how to break down their characters into simple shapes, use proper proportions, measuring skills and how to properly apply watercolor. During independent work time, Mrs. V will share some interesting facts about the weeks focused character. Each week we will focus on a different character from Studio Ghibli.

This class will be presented via Keynote and is an art based class. This is a SELF PACED class and is PRE-RECORDED. This means students will watch the pre-recorded video. Students will engage in questions, class discussions, and art assignments. There will be optional homework. Students will be encouraged to share their artwork.

Why SELF PACED?
🔰 Self paced classes are fantastic for international students (Mrs. V is located in Texas).
🔰 Students can work at their own pace. No need to wait on others or feel rushed.
🔰 Self paced classes are an excellent choice for families with busy schedules.
🔰 This class is a "self paced" class, meaning there is no live component, and all interactions between students and the teacher happens on the class page.

SELF PACED FORMAT:
🔹 Video Content: Weekly videos with a step-by-step breakdown of the art assignments are posted. Some videos will have a 15 to 20 minute duration. The work time for the student will be roughly an hour long. Students will review the video.
🔹 Discussion Prompt/Question/Check-in: Students respond to a weekly discussion prompt and/or question(s) posted by the teacher.
🔹 Complete Artwork: Students spend time completing their sketches.
🔹 Submit Artwork: Students are required to post photos of their completed sketches in the classroom on the designated post. Keep in mind, sharing artwork is essential in a self paced class.
🔹 Feedback: Individualized feedback will not be given unless directly requested.

You can attach the watercolor paper with tape to a board and prop it or use a book to prop against. This is highly recommended as we will use gravity to manipulate the paint.
