Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 11
Do you love Studio Ghibli and art? Do you want to sharpen your drawing skills? Want to learn some sketching fundamentals through your favorite Studio Ghibli characters? Then this class is for you!

This class is intended for the Studio Ghibli buff as students will be drawing different characters from multiple films! In this art class, students investigate basic drawing techniques through drawing the "Studio Ghibli Style". Some of the characters that students will draw come from films such as Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, My Neighbor Totoro, and more! Students tackle projects by breaking them down into simple shapes, learning proportions, and measuring. They will learn basic drawing principles and apply them to Studio Ghibli characters.

This class will be presented via Keynote and is an art based class. This is a LIVE class and is NOT pre-recorded. This is so the students can interact with the teacher and ask questions during instruction. Homework is optional. No writing or independent reading is necessary. Some artistic background is helpful, but not necessary. Students are expected to communicate with the teacher. Communication is key in order to give direction to the teacher when the student is ready for the next step (communicate via chat box, a visual clue, or a verbal cue. This will be explained in class).
