Description
Class Experience
In this one-time class, we will be previewing my upcoming Studio Ghibli Discussion Class. We will discuss some of the major topics/themes to be covered in the class, as well as, the movies we plan to discuss. This will also be an opportunity to discuss your favorite films that you'd like to see within the course, as well as a chance for me to discover the interest and availability of future participants. The current plan is to watch the films outside of the course and discuss them within...
This class is taught in English.

Students will be expected to view the movies on their own schedule prior to the specific movie being discussed. This can be easily done with an HBO Max subscription, but it is not required for this one-time preview.
Students may be given the assignment of preparing the discussion of films in the latter half of the class, but not for this one-time preview.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Although the majority of Studio Ghibli films are appropriate for most ages, there are two that include intense or sometimes violent imagery that may frighten younger audiences. The course is currently set to ages 10-15, but that may change depending on the interest. For more questions on parental guidance, I encourage you to go to Common Sense Media for help. Here is the link: https://www.commonsensemedia.org/lists/studio-ghibli-movies The movie highest on the list that we plan to watch is Princess Mononoke (recommended for 12+), but we may have discussions about others that are rated for older audiences.
