Class Experience

Students will learn basic story concepts such as: description, character development, simple parts of a story, building a conclusion, and simple editing. Students will have practice time and teacher feedback to increase independent writing skills.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology. In an 8+ year career as an SLPA, I helped elementary students understand vocabulary concepts, such as descriptors, and how to best communicate information with complete thought-process and proper language structure. This class is academic in nature; it in not therapeutic or diagnostic in any way.
None. Students will be encouraged to complete work not finished in class but it will not be required.
Pencil, paper, favorite books of an appropriate age. Teacher may limit or restrict which literature can be presented in class based on age-appropriateness.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
