Stretching Class For Dancers!

In this one-time 30 minute class, we will stretch our bodies to promote healing in dancers. Basic stretching will occur in standing and sitting on the floor. Open space is required and parental guidance is recommended. (Dance)

Class Experience

This one-time 30-minute class will guide dancers through basic stretches to optimize healing from dancer movement. Stretching will occur in both standing and sitting positions. Calming music will be in the background and each position will be held to promote deep stretching in muscles to allow body recovery. Dancers will follow the teacher through the movement patterns and guided through deep breathing as they stretch. Stretches will include areas of the body such as legs, arms, shoulders, neck, and trunk. Being a dancer is recommended, however not required for this class.  

An open space is required for this class as positions require the stretching of both the upper and lower body. Parental guidance is recommended as the class is physical in nature and injury could occur. Students should be barefoot and wear comfortable clothing for movement positions. 

This teacher has extensive dance history of 24 years and has taken numerous stretching classes over the years, especially in the competition season. This teacher has also taught a stretch class at a local dance studio and is a certified therapist resulting in great understanding of the human body.

-Students will increase their flexibility by stretching deep muscle groups. 
-Students will learn body awareness but completing various movement patterns.

Hello! I’m Miss Emily and I primarily teach dance and fitness classes! I love working out using my beachbody app and being outdoors! I was a competitive dance since the age of 8 and have been a studio dancer since the age of 3. I love listening to various types of music and feel my body move to the rhythm. I attend Keuka College where I studied Occupational Therapy and I currently practice my degree in New York State. While in college I coached the collegiate odance team and I love performing! Having fun is what my classes are all about! I love to help others reach their full potential by moving their bodies and self reflecting on their abilities. I am a natural redhead and recently had a baby boy!
