Hello! This class will focus on side and front splits. Gradually we will stretch the joints with several positions to help get into those splits. We will begin the class with some light movement to get the muscles warmed up so that they are easy to work on. Then, we will transition into stretching. This class will help you learn several stretching positions that then you could practice on your own or with us every week! My daughter will demonstrate. She has been a competitive figure skater...
I am a certified stretching instructor through the American Sports and Fitness Association. I have been a track competitor during my school years and have taught PE for 3 years. I have also been training my daughter, on off ice conditioning and stretching, for 6 years now all throughout her figure skating career and continue doing so.
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The student will need a big enough space to be able to stretch properly and safely.
