Dancers, gymnasts, and other athletes put a lot of stress and demand on their bodies. Stretching is key to improving one's ability as a dancer, and has many benefits including flexibility, stronger technique, improved lines and range of motion, muscle awareness and injury prevention. Stretching creates long lean muscles required for dancers and athletes. For dancers flexibility is particularly important and helps us improve our kicks, splits, arabesques, leaps, turn out and more. Students should have a yoga or Pilates mat available if they own one. If not, a towel or gentle surface will be sufficient. Students should also wear clothing that is comfortable to move in and allows full range of movement.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
