30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Experience is not required, beginners are welcome! It will be an all levels Yoga class. Come dressed up in your Halloween costume! After the learners introduce themselves, show and tell their costumes, and make Halloween names, the adventure begins! The instructor begins telling an original short story. The children will follow along only by listening and interact with the story by doing yoga poses when the story calls for it. During the story, a character, object, or action will come up that will be represented by a yoga pose. The instructor will demonstrate the poses both visually and verbally and the learners will copy. The poses will be beginner friendly with modifications if needed. The class will end with a Monster Mash dance. *I am very flexible with my schedule so if these times do not work with your schedule, please feel free to request another time or date and I will do my best to accommodate.
Learning Goals
Yoga poses themed for Halloween

Parental Guidance
Because it is a movement class, there will be some parental supervision needed for beginners to prevent any injuries. These are light beginner stretches and movements, no advanced poses will be used.
If it is a learners first time trying yoga, extra parental guidance is required to gauge the learners interest.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Teacher expertise and credentials
Greetings!
Cassandra is the name, and Theater and Yoga are my game.
I received my bachelors degree in Theater Performing Arts and Film/Television Production. I have many years experience in acting, directing, and working all aspects backstage, but Children's Theater was my niche. I was a part of a Children's Theater Troop that traveled to various elementary schools, performing and playing improv theater games with the students and I couldn't get enough of it. It led me to direct children's shows, such as James and the Giant Peach.
Along with theater, I am a 200-HR certified yoga instructor and have over 10 years experience teaching yoga in camps, gyms, and studios. I have also taught yoga to special needs students. The styles of yoga I teach are Vinyasa (flow based), Hatha (slower paced), and Yin (holding gentle poses). I focus on intention, breathing, poster, mindfulness, and awareness and how to incorporate those aspects in your life when you step off the mat.
I taught English as a Second Language abroad in Spain and Mozambique, to children ranging in ages 3-16 for over 4 years and included theater and yoga in my extracurricular teachings.
For me, teaching is about engagement, hands on experience, and most importantly, fun! So join my class and let's have some it!
