Alfiya – Principal, Miniature School of Ballet and Dance, Calgary Canada
Alfiya grew up in Uzbekistan and was accepted to study ballet in the prestigious Uzbek national ballet school when she was eight years old. Upon graduation with honors, she performed and was head choreographer with the Uzbek national circus as well as performing with the Royal London Circus. Upon marrying and briefly living in London, United Kingdom, Alfiya and her family moved to Calgary in 2006. In 2010, Alfiya founded Miniature School of Ballet. The school was formed with the belief that small class sizes allow for more personal instruction for students learning dance. The school continues to operate with small class sizes that focus on teaching the fundamentals of dance. Alfiya teaches the ballet classes at the school and heads the competition team. Students of the studio have won many national and international dance competitions, which has been more impressive given the small school size. Speak English and Russian
