Did someone say stress? Yes, I did! I'm Aasiyah (you can call me Siya), your go-to coach for helping your child rise above stress, strengthen their confidence and become their best self! Stress is something everyone faces. However, teenagers in specific deal with quite a lot of stress due to many factors. Here are a few: - School demands - Pressure to keep friends - Pressure to maintain friendships - Pressure of fitting in - Stress created by media While it isn't possible to remove all the stress factors, we can help children learn how to respond to stress. Research has found that it's not the stress itself that is tough but the way we respond to it is what matters. This is exactly what I teach in this class! I will teach the group a way we can respond to stress in a healthy manner and increase resilience to it. I will start by guiding the class through fun and engaging activities that will enable them to connect with each other. This way, they will feel comfortable in the group setting. Next, I will guide the students through self-regulation and stress management exercises that will increase their coping skills. I will teach exercises we can do as a team along with quick-fix exercises that can be done whenever encountering a stressful situation (ie before a test, or before talking to someone new.) Here are the learning outcomes from this workshop: 💭 Manage school stress. 💭 Manage stress regarding friendships and relationships 💭 Manage stress in everyday life 💭 Increase coping skills 💭 Become more mindful 💭 Obtain a more positive outlook 💭 Cultivate a growth and resilient mindset 💭 Increase executive functioning skills The class structure is as follows: - Welcome and Icebreaker - Get to know the teacher - Warm-up and game - What is stress? - Different types of stress - Self-regulation and coping mechanisms - Practice time: Let's practice altogether - Last thoughts and chit chat 🔥 ** Bonus ** Students will be provided with handouts that will enable them to practice everything we learned in class.
