Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Learners will be able to navigate King and pawn endgames in chess.
I've been playing chess for twenty years and have taught over 1000 students online to play. I love focusing on specific topics in chess to help learners see real improvements and build success and confidence. I use chess as a tool to teach executive functioning, life, and social skills.
Learners will need a notebook and pencil.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
3 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We play chess on the google jamboard. Young learners may need help remembering how to be respectful in online spaces including staying on their own board and not drawing or using stickers on the virtual chess board.
