Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Beginner Level
This class is ideal for learners who have an interest in learning about anxiety (feelings of worry) reduction, and how strategies can be used to reduce worries, stress feelings and increase an overall sense of calm.

This is an educational, fact-based course, and not a counseling, support or therapy group.

I offer 1:1 classes which can be personalized with anxiety education and strategies that relate to current needs.

Each lesson will be stand alone. There's no benefit to starting at week #1 lesson since each class is a self-contained experience. Learners can join at anytime, and attend as many or as few lessons as they prefer.

Because research says students learn better when relaxed, learners will not be called on. Chat box polls will be used to encourage participation. Participation through the chat box is welcomed but never required.

I have a structured, yet humor-filled teaching style, designed to keep student's interest, and help learner's feel comfortable. It's important in this type of class especially, to use lots of encouragement and support for individual learner's preference. I'll use slides and gifs to reinforce concepts, as well.
Learning Goals
In each class:

1. Students will hear a brief overview of what anxiety is, specifically the physiological process and how strategies can interrupt that process
2. Students will learn at least 2-3 strategies
3. Students will learn why the strategies work to reduce worries and anxiety
