In this 4-week course, students will read and analyze stories and learn strategies for comprehension. A semester-long course divided into four modules and can be taken on its own or in any sequence.

Description

Class Experience

This class is part of a semester long module that can be taken in any order. Students can take this class on its own, choose to take any of the three other modules or all four parts. As students read and analyze various stories, they will identify the main idea, determine the author's point of view, and improve their understanding of figurative language, conflict, character perspective, the narrative arc, and more. Each student will receive a copy of the chosen story for each class. Students...

Students will learn strategies for literary analysis. They will identify author's point of view, describe conflict, discuss cause and effects, analyze visuals, interpret memoir, analyze personality traits and much more.

A copy of the story will be distributed for each class.

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
