I have been in the acting industry since a very young child, acting in theatre. From there, I went on to study theatre and film acting. I have taught over 2000 actors and have helped them to successfully prepare for their careers in acting. On average, 70-80% of my students have gone on to book work in film, tv and commercials. My classes are interactive as I feel hands on learning in acting IS the only way. Students will learn through my various programs how to analyze and score scripts, build characters, relationship development, improv, auditioning techniques and method acting techniques. We will work on both scenes and monologues.(depending on the course) Also, I am very familiar with stranger things season one as I have watched it many times and studied it and taught it to many students In my own film school.
Students will be Required to do outside studies which could include memorization, character development, relationship development, character subconscious development and other fun assignments. Stranger Things is Rated PG-13. If your child is under that age I will need your permission that this is OK. Stranger stranger things has some swearwords in that we always replace with non-swearwords. Stranger Things may be a creepy, somewhat violent, and intense sci-fi series about a dangerous creature preying on children, but at the heart of it all, it's a show about courage and friendship that's fun to watch. That said, it's definitely one for a teen audience, including mature tweens.
Students may need to look up other websites to do their research on their characters and the time periods. Students will also be doing a character physical development using Pinterest or another app of their choosing. All scripts Will be posted in the classroom and it is the students responsibility to print this off.
