Class Experience

US Grade 7 - 10
Class will meet for 35 minutes each week to discuss Stranger Things, homework, and formatting for articles including backlinks, adding images, and tags. Google Docs anonymous links will be provided for assignments. 

Class 1: covers the layout of the class, what is expected, and how to pitch and claim articles. Article prompts available for claim will be posted on class message board. Students must claim one prompt and come up with their own
        Homework: claim an article and also pitch an article idea about Stranger Things in a private Outschool message to be approved to write. 

Class 2: writing articles starts! Starting with claimed articles. This class will cover the tone of voice expected in articles and how to write them with that voice. 
        Homework: get started on the articles using an anonymous link provided by me. I will review work and give feedback. 

Class 3: with newly written articles, formatting is the next step. Students will learn how to insert tags and backlinks along with image placement.
        Homework: format articles with hyperlinks 

Class 4: students will learn SEO and get ready to write their pitched articles using everything they have learned to be turned in the night before the last class. 
            Homework: write pitched articles

Class 5: students will reflect on the experience and work together to piece the articles all together in an anonymous Google Doc
Learning Goals
