Class Experience

This club is designed for everyone from the casual fan to the most hard-core STRANGER THINGS expert. Even someone who has never seen the show before would enjoy this chance to virtually watch the show with a group of friends. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring their questions, thoughts, and insights to the meetings. But if learners just want to listen, that's OK too.

Topics each week are chosen by the club. We discuss...

Students will gain additional knowledge and context surrounding the episodes of the series.

Students will learn about how single camera shows are written and filmed.

Students will learn how to participate constructively in a conversation with differing points of view.

I am a director by trade and training. However, I am especially qualified to lead this class as I am the exact same age as the main crew of the series--Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Will, and Eleven.

Students should watch the episode of STRANGER THINGS we will be discussing each week in advance.

A NETFLIX membership is the best way to have access to the series.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.

STRANGER THINGS is scary at times and has sci-fi violence. Please make sure you are comfortable with your student watching the show. All discussions will be kept school appropriate.
