Let's find out together from whence they come! - Did you know The Candyman is rooted in a factual event? - There really was a murderer who hid in an unsuspecting person's car. - Yup, a corpse did get mixed up with wax figures. Oopsie. - A state legislator and advice columnist actually created and spread one of these stories. - Turns out, you may actually want to check the toilet for creepy-crawlies before using it. During class, students will hear the urban legends, hear the truth behind them, and discuss how and why the stories evolved. Urban legends presented in class will include, but not be limited to: - The Goatman - The Mothman - Mikey the Life cereal kid - Polybius video game - drug-spiked temporary tattoos

Many urban legends have a frightening bent to them, so parents of particularly sensitive students should feel free to sit nearby, though off-camera, to offer support.
