Storytime Reading & Listening Comprehension Young Readers (1st-3rd Grade & ESL)
Class experience
We will read a new story as a group each week. The stories will be shared on the screen for all students to read along with me. Students do not have to be fluent readers. 1st, 2nd, 3rd and ESL students are welcome! With each story, students will identify the characters, setting, problem, and solution of the story. Time will be given to allow them to draw a picture of events that happened in the beginning, middle, and end of the story. Students will share their favorite part of the story...
Students will improve reading and listening comprehension skills by identifying the different parts of the story: beginning, middle, end, characters, setting, problem, and solution.
Students will need a piece of plain white paper, pencil, crayons, or markers to draw about our story. I will send a graphic organizer before the beginning of each class that can be printed out that students can also use. Otherwise, plain white paper is fine.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
