In this class, students will have a fun and interactive story time book club similar to those that were previously held in libraries. During this class, students will answer questions about the story and develop their reading comprehension skills. This class is meant to be fun and entertaining. The main objective of this course is to get students excited about reading. When I am teaching the class, I will use vocal variation and props( hand puppets and cutouts) to keep the students engaged and excited. My goal is to make this a social skills class as well, so kids have an opportunity to interact and connect with peers. I will do this using games and/or discussion points. Each week we will have new stories. We will read the story and then do a game, activity or discussion. Week 1 - The Three Little Pigs -09/08 Week 2 - Little Red Riding Hood- 09/15 Week 3 - The Gingerbread Man- 09/22 Week 4- Jack and the Beanstalk- 09/29 There is no special experience needed for this course.

My name is Desiree. I am hosting Read With Me classes. In those classes, I will read a book in class and discuss themes and new topics with students. I thinking storytelling can be used to make learning fun.
I attained my Bachelor's degree in Finance at the age of 18. I went on to work in the corporate world for a few years. I then decided to take some time to travel. Before I left, I became an online English teacher. I have officially been an online teacher for a 1 year and a half.
My experience extends beyond my online background as well. During college, I signed up to be a volunteer at my church nursery. I did that for about 5 years. I have experience working with kids all ages.
