For most field mice, winter means burrowing down and nesting. But not for Lucy! She loves feeling the snow crunching under her paws and wearing her fluffy wool hat. Most of all, Lucy loves to ice skate, and she doesn't want the other mice to miss out on all the fun. After all, a winter wonderland is twice as nice when your friends share it with you! Can Lucy find a way to convince her homebody buddies to join her in "mice skating"?

Please make sure your child has a blank piece of drawing paper and a full set of colorful crayons. Crayons allow your child to improve their fine motor skills and crayons give your child more confidence as they draw -- more so than markers. Thank you!

I am a certified teacher who has taught two years of 4th grade, two years of 3rd grade and I've been a preschool teacher for 14 years. Two of my most favorite parts of being a preschool teacher have been storytime and guided drawing lessons with my three and four year olds. I enjoy bringing my students into each story by asking questions, using different voices and sound effects. I want to show my students how fun and exciting reading can be. At preschool ages of 3 to 6 years old, their creativity is so sweet and every picture they draw will not look exactly like mine, but drawing is such a stepping stone to other things. Through guided drawing, students will learn colors, following directions, creativity, and appreciation of art through crayons.
