Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
In this engaging class, learners will listen to If You Take A Mouse To The Movies by Laura Numeroff. Throughout the story, I will pause to allow students to predict what they think will happen next and ask questions for comprehension. We will discuss that cause/effect is when something happens due to something else. I will ask students to complete the statement If you take a mouse to the movies he will ask you for... Students will share their responses or their favorite from the story! We will then use any materials listed or any learner has to make an adorable craft!

As a licensed teacher specializing in Reading, I have had the opportunity to support and engage students with diverse learning needs. My experience has enabled me to develop a strong understanding of different instructional strategies to ensure that all students have the skills necessary for academic success. I am passionate about creating a positive classroom environment that is both supportive and engaging, where students feel comfortable sharing their ideas and participating in discussions. With my expertise in Reading instruction, I strive to help each student develop a lifelong love for reading while achieving academic goals.
My passion is literature. I believe stories make concepts more palpable to children. Stories can teach readers valuable lessons, make them laugh, and see things from a different perspective, or take them somewhere new!
When I have time, I like to travel, experience different cultures, and learn the history of people and places. I am also an animal lover! I have two dogs, have worked with animal rescues, and fostered cats and dogs for years.
If you are interested in a class and don't see a time that meets your needs, please send me with your time request. I look forward to meeting your learner in class!
