Class Experience

"The Pout-Pout Fish" has a pout-pout face and spreads its dreary-wearies all over the place. But why??? Why is he so melancholy? In this storytime class, your child will listen as the teacher reads "The Pout-Pout Fish" by Deborah Diesen. Students will be encouraged to actively participate and interact with their fellow classmates. They will be asked thought-provoking questions and offer their own advice to the animals in the story. This is an engaging, rhyming book that is sure to make your little one smile. After we read and discuss the book, students will have an opportunity to draw a picture of their very own happy fish.
Learning Goals
This storytime class will incorporate listening, rhyming, identifying colors and shapes, and lessons about feelings.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello, my name is Sarabeth Geddes! I have a bachelor’s degree in business management and two years of ESL (English as a Second Language) teaching experience on an online platform. I’m also a very active volunteer in my children’s elementary school and hold a board position on the PTA. Prior to becoming a mom and online educator, I worked in engineering operations and small business consulting.

Most of my lessons are centered around English and reading, but I might throw in some life-skills training courses for older learners. I make my lessons easy to understand and fun, and I encourage all my students to be active participants. My lessons are suitable for young learners in a wide range of age categories.

My daily storytime art classes are scheduled on a four-week rotation where no book is offered on the same day at the same time all month. This way, students with dedicated Outschool lesson times can participate with a new book each week. For the spring, my classes will usually be offered Monday - Thursday, 9-11 am (ET) and this schedule will be be expanded during the summer. I will occasionally add a few classes on Fridays if my schedule allows. If you are interested in a book from my available listings that isn't currently scheduled, I'm happy to accommodate requests, so just let me know.

I’m a happily married mom of two boys, ages 6 and 9. My goal in life is to raise responsible, respectable, well-rounded, kind members of society. In my free time, I enjoy sewing and eating ice cream.

I’m excited to meet your child and can’t wait to teach them. Thank you and I’ll see you in the classroom!
