In this workshop, young writers will explore various creative writing techniques that will help them develop their storytelling skills. They will learn about character creation, story settings, plot development, and dialogue, among other essential elements. Each week, we'll focus on a specific aspect of writing, and learners will have the opportunity to practice these techniques through independent writing activities and collaborative exercises. Students will learn various creative writing techniques, including character development, setting creation, plot development, dialogue, and more. They will also improve their storytelling abilities and learn to express their ideas more effectively.
Homework Offered
Optional writing activities will be suggested for learners to practice the techniques learned during class, but no mandatory homework will be assigned.Assessments Offered

In this class, we will be using an approved third-party tool called "Padlet" (https://padlet.com/) to facilitate online collaboration and sharing of ideas among learners. Padlet is an interactive virtual bulletin board that allows students to post text, images, and links related to class topics. It is an approved tool by Outschool and adheres to their privacy and safety standards. Please note that creating a Padlet account is not required for learners, as they can participate in the class Padlet board as guests. However, if you prefer your child to have their own account, you can sign up for a free Padlet account. Please ensure that your child's username does not contain any personally identifiable information. By using Padlet, learners will have the opportunity to engage with their peers in a safe and moderated environment. As the teacher, I will actively monitor the content posted on the Padlet board to ensure it aligns with the class objectives and adheres to Outschool's community guidelines.
