Calling all story lovers! In this ongoing class, learners will act out a play based on a different well-known story each week. They will get to play their favourite characters and have fun experimenting with character voices and movement styles. They will also play drama games to warm up each week, and will even be invited to use their creativity to find props and costumes from around their houses to bring the story to life. This class is perfect for either learners who are exploring drama for the first time or experienced actors who wish to infuse a little more theatre into their weekly routine. I am an experienced teacher and youth theatre director who is passionate about introducing children to the world of the theatre. The first four weeks will revolve around pre-selected scripts, as outlined below. After that, scripts will be chosen based on learner interest. Week of June 26th - Wizard of Oz Week of July 3rd - Alice in Wonderland Week of July 10th - The Emperor's New Clothes Week of July 17th - Hansel and Gretel
Learning Goals
Learners will learn voice and movement techniques for bringing characters to life. They will also increase their confidence and ability to read aloud expressively. For experienced actors, this class is helpful for practice in succeeding during the cold read process.

Parental Guidance
All scripts chosen will be appropriate for learners in this age group.
Supply List
Scripts will be uploaded to the classroom the day before class begins. They will also be shared on the screen for those who cannot download or display them during class.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
