This class meets once a week for story time. The books read each week may change depending on the ages and interests of the learners who sign up. If there is a week when you can not make story time, you will have access to video of the storytime. I can also issue a refund or help you transfer to a different day and time if need be. I absolutely LOVE reading picture books and have both classics and some wonderful new stories that are so fun and captivating. I adapt my class each week depending on the age of learners, amount of learners in the class and if a child has a special story request. I want the students to really become engrossed in each book, and so I will do my best to choose books specifically for the learners enrolled. Week of March 7th: Unicorn story time. -"Sparkle the Unicorn" "How to Catch a Unicorn" Week of March 14th: Monster books -"Go away big green Monster" "Where the wild things are" Week of March 21st: Silly Alphabet books -"Chicka, chicka Boom Boom." "LMNO peas" Week of March 28th/ April 4th(no class March 30-April 4) : Eric Carle Author study -"The very Hungry Caterpillar" "The grouchy Ladybug" As a certified teacher specializing in literacy, I believe play is so important to early development. The class will be structured in a fun and comforting way, but students will be working to increase their attention span, engage in conversations, and even recall information from the stories. Learners will be on mute for most of the class to minimize interruptions so that all students can enjoy the story. I will do my best to keep their attention on the book and call back any learners that are distracted or unfocused (in a fun way, I would never embarrass a child) . I believe stories are meant to be read with feeling and in a way that will captivate the audience. *If there is a book in the booklist (see references) that your learner would like to hear please don't hesitate to message me before class. I love getting requests! You can also utilize the class message board to tell me what type of books you love*
