This class will help your child develop a love of reading while learning about colors. Children will have many opportunities to participate verbally and nonverbally. I will open this lesson with a welcome song. Next, I will read Pete the Cat: I Love My White Shoes by: Eric Litwin. This is an interactive book which leads to child participation. The students will then participate in a song about colors. Afterwards, we will enjoy the flannel board Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You Hear? by: Bill Martin Jr. and Eric Carle. We will finish our lesson with a goodbye song.

Hello! My name is Kirstie Hardesty. I teach a variety of classes for early learners.
I have a teaching degree in Early Childhood Education, Intervention Specialization (Special Education), and a K-12 Reading Endorsement. I have spent most of my time teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. I have also worked in my local library's Children's Department where I traveled to 42 different classrooms teaching students the love of reading.
I believe education should be an exciting experience which opens up a world of knowledge and possibilities.
I am currently a stay-at-home mom of two amazing boys. I have learned a great deal from watching my children progress. I love nothing more than teaching my boys through books, songs, experiments, and other fun learning activities.
