In this Multi-Day class, we will read different stories in Mo Willem's Elephant and Piggie series, discussing parts in a book, key ideas, characters, and also sentence structure and practice with blending.

Students will learn in a shared screen experience through listening and oral delivery in discussions during and after the story. Students will have an opportunity to ask and answer questions, take turns reading pages on their own, and practice speaking in complete sentences. Students will interact with Gerald and Piggie by asking them questions directly. Students will also interact with each other when asked to blend a word or read a page together. This class will begin with a short introduction question, we will read the story, and then end with a discussion.
Learning Goals
Students will learn listening skills, fluency in reading, and develop critical thinking skills.

Hello there! My name is Andrea and in the classroom I go by Ms. Annie. I teach classes for young learners in Phonics, Reading, Math, and Spanish. In the future, I may teach guitar and piano classes as well. I have a M.Ed in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University. I have a B.A. in Spanish and a B.S. in Health from Texas A&M University. I have taught Kindergarten for the past two years and I taught Pre-Kindergarten for the previous three years. I was a Spanish tutor in college and play guitar and piano for enjoyment.
I lived in Salamanca, Spain for three months studying Spanish. I have also walked 500 miles across Spain two different times. I enjoy reading, hiking, music, traveling, and TEACHING! In my classroom, learning is fun. It is my experience that children learn best when they have a positive emotional connection to the content. I can't wait to see you in the classroom!
