We will be reading a Pirate themed story and thinking about all things in the alphabet - using our best pirate voice of course! We'll read the story "Shiver Me Letters: A Pirate ABC" by June Sobel. Next, we'll do an alphabet scavenger hunt thinking back to the story or using clues around the room. Students will draw a picture that matches their designated letter and show to the class as part of our pirate-themed craft!* *Please check supply list before class. Learning Goals
Students will practice listening skills during read aloud. They will practice taking turns discussing the book and choosing a letter for the alphabet scavenger hunt. Students will use their creative artistic abilities to draw a picture to match their scavenger hunt letter. Lastly, they will practice independence and public speaking skills by sharing their drawing with the class.

I have over 10 years experience in Education including teaching children, coaching adolescent sports, and helping training adults in their jobs, so education and children are very important to me!

Outside of my classroom, I love to spend time with my family including my husband and 3 little boys. We love movies, playing outside, listening to music, dancing, and traveling!
In my classroom, I want to make learning fun, enjoyable, and not feel like work! I love seeing a child's face light up when they learn something, and want to make learning an exciting adventure! I look forward to seeing your child in my classroom!
PLEASE NOTE CLASS POLICIES:
- I can only schedule my classes 1-2 weeks in advance due to family scheduling. Classes often sell out fast so please check back for more class times or send a request and I will try to accommodate.
- If class enrollment is low, class may be cancelled or it may run shorter than the scheduled time. Also, if classes are full, we may run over on time depending on how talkative our class is.
- Classes will start on time even if learners are late or absent. If no learners are in the classroom within the first 10 minutes of class, I will leave the classroom. Per Outschool policy, “If your learners have not joined the meeting 10 minutes after the start time, the meeting may be canceled, at the teacher’s discretion. This is considered a missed meeting and you are not entitled to a refund.”
- Per Outschool policy for safety and security, all students are required to turn their cameras on at the beginning of class. Please review Zoom features so you know how to use the camera and microphone features, including Mute and Unmute.
- Parents/Guardians are not required to be present for class, but please be nearby for technical issues.
- Per Outschool policy, there are no refunds for missed classes. I am happy to transfer your learner to another section but require 24 hour notice in order to fill your vacated spot prior to class time.
