Description

Class Experience

We will be reading a Pirate themed story and thinking about all things in the alphabet - using our best pirate voice of course!  We'll read the story "Shiver Me Letters: A Pirate ABC" by June Sobel.  Next, we'll do an alphabet scavenger hunt thinking back to the story or using clues around the room.  Students will draw a picture that matches their designated letter and show to the class as part of our pirate-themed craft!*

Students will practice listening skills during read aloud.  They will practice taking turns discussing the book and choosing a letter for the alphabet scavenger hunt.  Students will use their creative artistic abilities to draw a picture to match their scavenger hunt letter.  Lastly, they will practice independence and public speaking skills by sharing their drawing with the class.

  1 file available upon enrollment-printed pirate hat (will be emailed prior to class) 
-tape/stapler/glue stick (may need parental assistance)
-crayons/markers/colored pencils

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
