Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
In this one-time class, learners will read a teacher-created story about a horse named Pickles. Learners will be encouraged to read the story and I can help them as needed. If they wish to just follow along and listen that is fine too. Some of the words will have pictures under them to help early readers remember the words. The story also has short repetitive sentences for learners to become familiar with the words and the structure of the sentences. The story is actually about numbers (1-10) and we will practice counting the number of animals Pickles sees throughout the story. We will discuss the different animals as the story goes on. The story is presented as a slide show so that it is visually easy to see the words and pictures throughout the class. At the end of the story, we will play a game to review the story. I will also share pictures of the REAL Pickles!

A worksheet will be provided.

This class is great for beginning readers and ESL students.

***This class was previously a group class, here are some parent testimonials***

The instructor was unbelievably kind, supportive, and warm. She encouraged my daughter and kept her really engaged! -Lia

Angila was amazing. She was incredibly patient with my 5 year old, especially when he began to get cranky at the end of the class (he has a difficult time focusing for at times). "Pickles Goes to the Farm" was such a cute story and a great way to teach kids different sight words and how to put sentences together. -Anthony G.

My 5 year old daughter loved this class! I highly recommend to others! -Elizabeth K.
