30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
This engaging class will encourage use of imagination and foster a love of reading and books. Instructor will read a children's book to the class, and show the pictures. Instructor will foster communication and critical thinking skills by facilitating discussion throughout the book with questions such as "How is that character feeling? Did that character make a good decision? What a better decision they could have made? Would you like it if someone did that to you?" etc. After reading and discussing throughout the book the class will be encouraged to share their favorite part of the book, or something they thought was interesting. Encouraging critical thinking skills and communication with others early in life can help develop self confidence. If your child loves to draw, feel free to encourage them to bring paper and crayons to doodle while I read. I have the books I'll be reading for different class sections if you want to know what book it will be in advance :) Feb 9th: Happy Valentine's Day Little Critter by Mercer Mayer Feb 12th: Bad Kitty Does Not Like Valentine's Day by Nick Bruel Feb 18th: The Story Book Knight by Helen and Thomas Docherty Feb 21st: Abracazebra by Helen and Thomas Docherty Feb 24th: Barely a Bunny by Susan Rutledge March 2nd: Land of the Can'ts by Susan Rutledge

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Foreign Language
Hi! I love teaching topics that can help you be a better communicator and that help provide useful tools to add value to your life. My classes are dynamic and always full of fun and joy.
I taught public high school for 7 years before having my first child (I have three now, and stay home with them.) I used to teach (and am TEA certified in) American Sign Language, Public Speaking, and Photojournalism. I absolutely loved my job, but I couldn't miss the opportunity to stay home with my kids. I miss my students and the fun dynamics that come with being a teacher, so I'm thrilled about this opportunity to combine the best of both worlds!
I love all things Halloween, spooky, and cats! I love laughing, Chris Farley, and leopard print.
