In this one-time story time and craft class, we will read and interact with the story Norman the Slug and the Silly Shell and then make a craft to go along with the story!
Class experience
In this one-time class we will read the story Norman the Slug and The Silly Shell by Sue Hendra. We will compare snails and slugs and your learner may even learn something new about each animal! We will discuss how a snail has a shell, but a slug doesn't. After reading the story, your learner will get to decide if they would rather have a donut for their snail shell, or underwear for wings. Then, your learner will be able to make their Norman the Slug craft by picking what they would like to...
1 file available upon enrollmentA two-page printable handout will be provided upon enrollment. To be sure that we have enough time to finish the craft in class, please have the shapes cut our before class. Students will also need - crayons/markers to color with - glue - construction paper to use as a background page (optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Parents can help by printing out the printable pages before class and cutting them out for their learner before class.
